Abstract

This article tries to research the relationship between Han Liu and Buddhism. Depending on Confucian, Han yu leaded Buddhism into Confucian and initiated the moralistic Confucian; Liu zongyuan combined Buddhism with Confucian. In author's opinion, leading Buddhism into Confucian and combining Buddhism with Confucian composes the two fundamental forms with which Chinese scholar-bureaucrat accept Buddhism.
