Abstract

The stiffness of the secondary coil spring is calculated with the finite element calculation method. The result shows that, under the lateral load, due to the motion of the upper end,the applying position of vertical load on the spring changes, under the effect of the notches at the two ends of the spring, the state of forces applied on the spring changes, the vertical stiffness has fairly obvious changes along with the change of the load, and the lateral stiffness has relation with the applying direction of the lateral load.
