Abstract

Objective:To evaluate the efficacy of thoracoscopic T_(2-4) sympathectomy for palmar and foot hyperhidrosis. Methods:Bilateral thorascopic T_(2-4) sympathectomy were performed in 21 cases.Palmar and foot skin temperature were monitored simultaneously during operation and the efficacy was evaluated after operation. Results:The sympotoms vanished in all 21 cases of palmar hyperhidrosis and in 19 cases of foot hyperhidrosis, while two cases decreased.Compensatory hyperhidrosis were found in 4 cases. Conclusions:Thoracoscopic T_(2-4) sympathectomy is an effective method to treat palmar and foot hyperhidrosis.
