Abstract
Ethyl acetate is synthesized in the reactive distillation column using ionic liquid of 1-hexyl-pyridinium tetrafluoroborate(HPyBF4)as catalyst and solvent. The result shows that HPyBF4 has catalytic activity and 100% selectivity in esterification, but there is no significant change in activity of HPyBF4 after reusing 5 times in esterification. The influences of reflux ratio, feed ratio, amount of HPyBF4 on esterification are studied. The optimal conditions is as follow: acetic acid: ethanol =1.1:1,acetic acid:HPyBF4=8:1,and reflux ratio=3.
