Abstract

Objective:To design a method which might be used to reconstruct the nasal deformity associated with unilateral cleft lip.Method:The correction consisted of the following procedures: pick up the inferior-laterally displaced alar cartilage and fix it at the appropriate points to the opposite alar cartilage and both upper lateral cartilages.Result: Through 85 cases, the pose-operative results have proved satisfactory and long-term results showed that the correction is maintained by 13 years. Conclusion: We concluded that primary surgical treatment is a good procedure for correction of the complex nasal deformity associated with unilateral cleft lip.
