Abstract
Objective: To investigate the clinical value of detection of brain natriuretic peptide(BNP)in chronic heart failure(CHF)patients. Methods: The plasma BNP in 101 CHF patients and 45 healthy controls were measured by fluoroimmunoassay, meanwhile, the left ventricular end-diastolic dimension(LVEDD),left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF)of CHF patients were measured by Doppler ultrasound cardiograph, their correlation with plasma BNP levels were analyzed, and BNP levels before and after treatment were compared and analyzed. Results: plasma BNP levels in CHF patients were significantly higher than healthy controls(P0.01),and the BNP values among different classes of heart function had statistical significance(P0.01).There were good correlation between BNP levels and NYHA,LVEF,LVESD in CHF patients(P0.01).Conclusion: BNP is a sensitive index to evaluate the ventricular function of CHF patients, and the detection of BNP has a high clinical value in diagnosis and treatment of CHF.
