Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the accuracy of 64-slice CT coronary angiography for diagnosing the coronary lesions of ≥50% stenosis in the coronary arteries by taking invasive coronary angiography as the references. Methods: We retrospectively collected the coronary artery imaging data of 112 patients with coronary artery disease undergoing 64-slice CT coronary angiography and invasive coronary angiography in our hospital during December 2007 and October 2008.Taking invasive coronary angiography as the reference standard,we evaluated the accuracy of the diagnosis using 64-slice CT coronary angiography for coronary lesions. Results: Among 112 patients,374 coronary lesions were assessable by invasive coronary angiography.Overall accuracy for 64-slice CT detecting coronary lesions was 90.6%.the false-positive rate and the false negative rate of 64-slice CT for detecting coronary lesions was 4.3% and 5.1%.There were detected in left circumflex branch and distal right coronary of false negative results. It also all come up with coronary artery calcification of false-positive results. Conclusion: Our results showed that 64-slice CT angiography can provides a high-diagnostic value in the detection of coronary lesions.but coronary artery calcification and anatomical location of blood vessels seem to affect the 64-slice spiral CT coronary angiography on coronary lesion evaluation and testing.
