The effect of hemodialysis on pulmonary function of uremic patients

Abstract

Objective To observe the efficiency of hemodialysis on pulmonary function in uremic patients.Methods The pulmonary function of 38 patients with uremic was determined.They were classified as the hemodialysis group(23 patients) and the non-hemodialysis group(15 patients) by whether they were on hemodialysis or not.The pulmonary function of hemodialysis group was checked before and after hemodialysis respectively.Results All uremic patients had low pulmonary function parameters,including FVC/PRE(%),FEV1/PRE(%),FEV1/FVC(%)、PEF/PRE(%)、MMEF/PRE(%)、DLCO/PRE(%),especially in non-hemodialysis group(P0.01).There was obvious increasing of ventilation and dispersion function after hemodialysis in hemodialysis group(P0.01).Conclusions There is obvious lowering of pulmonary function in uremia.It is necessary to make hemodialysis in order to improve pulmonary function of uremic patients.
