Abstract

Objective To study the changes of pulmonary function before and after hemodialysis in patients with uremia.Method The pulmonary function in 60 patients with uremia and 20 normal subjects were detected. The indexes were reexamined in 40 patients 3 months after hemodialysis. Results The FVC,MBC,FEV1,PEF,MMEF,V25 and DLco were significantly lower in patients with uremia than those in normal subjects. There were obvious improvement of FEV1,PEF,MMEF,V25 and DLco after dialysis(P0.05 or P0.01) and no significant improvement of FVC,MBC(P0.05).Conclusion Ventilation and diffusing function of lung are decreased in patients with uremia, accompanied airway obstruction. There is obvious improvement of pulmonary function after hemodialysis.
