Abstract
Ever since 1980s,neo-liberalism has replaced Keynesism and become the mainstream ideology of the capitalist world. The contemporary international financial crisis is against such historical background and its origin is the paradigm of neo-liberalism: The Washington Consensus. In diagnosing today's financial crisis,neo-liberalism has its own blind spots in theory. However,The Capital, and On Imperialism still have their profound charm in theory because they not only provide us with theory and method in rich inspiration to clarify the crisis at present, but also offer us rich ideological resource in analyzing the deep origin of today's crisis,i.e.,neo-liberalism has deluded the United States to the polarization both home and abroad and worsened the basic contradictions in capitalism.
