Abstract

Taking‘Qiuguang 88'variety of tomato as material, the effect of different concentration of vanillin on seed germination, seedling growth and physiological characteristics of tomato were studied by soaking seed and root-irrigation. The results showed that,to some extent,1.0 mmol/L vanillin promoted the tomato seed germination and seedling growth, other concentrations did not have significant effect. And vanillin disturbed overground and underground balance of tomato seedling, especially the root growth was greatly affected.Overall, vanillin had negative impact on physiological activities of tomato, especially 4.0mmol/L.Concretely,the root activity and chlorophyll content were decreased, the plasma membrane permeability,MDA and free proline content were increased.
