Abstract
OBJECTIVE To study the clinical distribution and the changing trends of drug resistance of Acinetobacter baumannii to guide drug treatment in clinic.METHODS The distribution and resistance of 466 strains of A.baumannii from 2007 to 2009 were analyzed, and its antimicrobial resistance was determined by Kirby-Bauer method.RESULTS A total of 466 strains of A.baumannii were isolated, and 67.4% of them were isolated from respiratory tract specimens, the next were from secretion, accounting for 14.6%.A.baumannii was mostly sent from department of cadre, department of neurosurgery and department of burn. The number of A.baumannii isolates was increasing from 36 in the year 2007 to 327 in the year of 2009,and most of them were multi-drug resistance. The resistant rate of ABA to cefoperrazone/sulbactam was the lowest(3.6%) and imipenem(5.6%),the next was piperacillin/tazobactam(31.1%).For other antibacterial agents, the drug resistant rates were higher than 50.0%.CONCLUSION During the three years, the isolating rate of A.baumannii is increasing. These strains are highly resistant to multiple antibiotics, therefore, the detection and surveillance to the drug resistance should be strengthened.
