Endoscopic surgery for frontal sinus diseases

Objective To explore the indications,methods and efficacy of endoscopic frontal sinus surgery.Methods 76 patients had frontal sinus diseases as confirmed by CT,of whom 9 were frontal mucoceles,7 were frontal sinusitis,5 were fungal frontal sinusitis,and 55 were frontal sinusitis combine nasal polyps.Frontal sinus drainage of Draf Ⅰ,Ⅱa/b,and Ⅲ were performed.Results All patients were followed up by endoscopy for 6 months.Among them,38 sides were cured by Draf Ⅰ,21 sides cured by Draf Ⅱa,17 sides cured by Draf Ⅱb,and 2 sides were cured by Draf Ⅲ.Conclusion CT scanning is a basic landmark for endoscopic surgery to identify the ostium of the frontal sinus.Removing the frontal recess lesions and keeping the drainage passage of the frontal sinus are key points to cure frontal sinus diseases.
