Abstract
The thermoplastic was prepared from corn starch in single extruder in the presence of glycerol, water, temperature. The effect of glycerol to the starch structure and the crystal property were studied by SEM and XRD. The results showed that in the high temperature, the glycerol entered into the chain of starch and destroyed the crystalline structure of starch. When the content of glycerol was 25%-30%, the TPS has a proper mechanical property. The addition-PCL to the starch decreased the brittleness of the TPS and increase the hydrophobicity of the TPS.
