Abstract
Thermoplastic phosphate starch(TPS)was prepared with phosphate starch as matrix and glycerol as well as water as plasticizer by torque rheometer. The effects of the amount of glycerol on the plasticizing properties, rheological properties, crystallization and mechanical properties of TPS were studied. It was found that the balance torque of TPS decreased with the increasing of glycerol content, the melt index and the mobility increased. Both tensile strength and elongation at break first increased and then decreased as the glycerol content increased, meanwhile, the crystallization of TPS decreased and the plasticization property was improved.Research suggested that the mechanical properties of materials were better when the weight ratio of starch/glycerol/water was 60/30/8.
