The End of National Security?——On the New Security View

Abstract

Since the end of Cold War, international society has been facing security challenges more complicated than ever, and the traditional military security that based on individual country is only one of the many security issues. And along with the transformation, the security views of public are changing as well. Some scholars in China and abroad are trying to explain this phenomenon with a so called “new security view” with certain explanations that could lead to the misunderstanding of national security and military security can be ignored and be littled. By analyzing the elements of national security, different ways to understand security and the changes of security views, the author of this paper maintains that the core position of national security could not be changed. In the meantime, the theoretical and practical dilemmas of the new security view are exmined.
