Abstract

【Objective】 To study the effect of Schisandra on the learning and memory of mouse.【Methods】 Mice were randomly divided into control group and the alcohol extract of Schisandra low, medium and high dose groups, intragastric administration for 28 d.Detect the changes of learning and memory ability in mice by Morris water maze.【Results】 On the day of 7th,14th,21st after intragastric administration, the results by the Morris water maze found the latency of mice to escape was not significantly different(P 0.05);and towards the corner, times of cross effective area, percentage of objective quadrant distance in total distance, time in the purpose quadrant, residence time in the original platform, residence time and distance in the effective area were not significantly different(P 0.05).While on day 28,the latency of mice to escape of high-dose group longer than control group(P 0.05).Times of across platform and stay away from the original plateau have significantly different(P 0.05).【Conclusion】 Schisandra extract may not significantly affect ability on learning and memory in mice.
