Effect of Exogenous ALA on Physiological Characteristics of Pea Seedlings under Salt Stress

Abstract

The objective of this study is to investigate the effects of exogenous ALA on stress-resistance physiological characteristics in pea seedlings under salt stress.We have used 100 mmol/L NaCl to produce the salt stress,under which the effects of exogenous ALA have been measured on MDA content and activities of SOD,POD and CAT in leaves of pea seedlings.The results show that pea seedlings are destroyed by oxidation under salt stress of 100 mmol/L NaCl,the activities of SOD increase.After pea seedlings under salt stress are treated with 0.1 mmol/L ALA,the content of malonaldehyde(MDA) in leaves reduces 25.80% significantly,while the activities of SOD,POD and CAT in leaves increase 28.70%,13.60% and 36.80%,plant height and fresh weight increase by 0.975-fold and 0.15-fold,respectively.So the stress-resistance ability of pea seedlings and the activity of SOD treated with 0.1 mmol/L ALA can be increased under salt stress.
