Abstract

To assess the changes of serum levels of tumor necrosis factor-α and interleukin-10 in 38 patients with acute pancreatitis (AP), finding the rules of changes and their value. The serum levels of tumor necrosis factor-α, interleukin-10 in 38 AP patients and 30 normal subjects were tested by ELISA. The level of serum tumor necrosis factor-α and interleukin-10 in AP patients were significantly higher than that in healthy people (P 0.01). In the lst day after admission, the serum levels of tumor necrosis factor-α in the severe acute pancreatitis were significant higher than that in the mild acute pancreatitis, however the serum levels of interleukin-10 in the mild acute pancreatitis were higher, the difference was significant (P 0.01). [Conclusion] The serum levers of TNF-α and interleukin-10 are related to the development of acute pancreatitis and It can be the indicator of the early diagnose of acute pancreatitis.
