Abstract

The molecule(ion) of Gemini surfactant consists of two hydrophobic chains and two hydrophilic heads conjugated by a bridge unit.Compared with conventional mono-chain surfactant,Gemini surfactants demonstrate unique features in critical micelle concentration, interface properties and et al.In this paper, the properties of Gemini surfactants are reviewed and comparison is made between mono-chain surfactant and Gemini surfactants.
