The Characteristics and Implications of Teacher Professional Development in Japan

Abstract

In the world's teacher education reform and teacher professional development history,teacher professionalization is the common trend.Japan is the earlier one which proposes the teacher professionalization.Teacher professional development has characteristics in Japan.This thesis introduce and discuss two major aspect of teacher professional development:the history of teacher professional development and the characteristics of teacher professional development.I hope it will bring some useful implications for teacher professional development in our country.
