Abstract
Tumuxiuke fault belt is situated in the northwest part of Tarim basin. It is the biggest scale and the best significant strike-slip faults. The oil and gas exploration indicate that a series of anticline traps appear in Tumuxiuke fault belt and adjacent area, and they are cut by Tumuxiuke fault belt. Therefore, the fault sealing properties of Tumuxiuke fault belt is very important for oil exploration. The indicator of synthetic evaluation of fault sealing property includes fault activity, lithologic juxtaposition section of fault, fault surface of lithologic superposition, sand-shale ratio of fault-slip strata, daubing coefficient, and relationship between the pressure of fault surface and the sand-shale ratio. It is determined that the main faults of the Tumuxiuke fault belt are not sealing, and they destroyed or remaked the previous oil and gas traps.
