The surgical treatment of congenital esotropia

Abstract
Objective To explore the surgical method of congenital esotropia and its clinical effects.Methods 5 mm recessing at one medial rectue for 20 △ esotropia,5-6 mm recessing at both medial rectus for 40 △-60 △ esotropia.Results After 12 weeks follow up,21 cases (80%) had an esotropia less than 10 △,4 cases in 10 △-15 △,and 1 case had an exotropia less than 15 △.Conclusion Earlier diagnosis and operation are necessary for congenital esotropia.
