Clinical Randomized Controlled Trials of Gatifloxacin Injection in Treatment of Bacterial Infections of Respiratory Tract

Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of domestic gatifloxacin injection in the treatment of respiratory tract bacterial infections.Methods A total of 64 patients(16 with acute purulent tonsillitis,27 With acute bronchitis,20 with community acquired pneumonia and 1 with bronchiectasis) were randomly divided into treatment group and control group.Thirty-two patients of the treatment group were treated with gatifloxacin injection 400 mg,iv,gtt,qd for 7～14 d.Thirty-two patients of the control group were treated with levofloxacin injection 200 mg,iv,gtt,bid for 7～14 d.Results The total clinical effective rate was 97% in treatment group and 94% in control group.There was no significant difference(P0.05)between two group in the clinical efficacy.There was also no significant difference(96% to 92%,P0.05)between gatifloxaein group and levofloxacin group in the bacterial clearance rate.The incidence rate of adverse reactions was 10% in the treatment group and 13% in the control group(P0.05).No severe adverse reactions were found.Conclusion Gatifloxacin injection is an effective and safe antibiotics for the treatment of respiratory tract bacterial infections.
