Case Method and Legal Teaching Reform in China

Case method,also called Socratic Method,focuses on training students' legal reasoning ability.Meanwhile,it can improve students' role consciousness and practical ability.In legal education of continental law system,however,it is not so easy to transplant this teaching method because case method deviates the requirement of legal knowledge system and it is in auxiliary position in legal education in China.But this method can not be undervalued for China has some regime factors for adopting it: the establishment of precedent system carved out the surviving space for case method.On the other hand,Britain and American legal education needs it.And most important of all this method can remedy the default of practical link in legal education in China.
