Abstract

Objective To compare clinical effects of Articaine and Xylocaine Hydrochloride on orallocal anesthesia. Methods 3690 patients were randomly divided into two groups: Articaine grou andXylocaine Hydrochloride group Patients in each group were anesthetized by local anesthesia or blockanesthesia. Pains during injection and surgery, effects of anesthetic, and complications duringanesthetization were analyzed. Results Pains during injection and surgery in Articaine group wasmagnificently less than ones in Xylocaine Hy drochloride group. The lasting time of block anesthesiaand infiltration anesthesia in Artiaine group was much longer than that in Xylocaine Hydrochloridegroup. No magnificent toxic side effects were found in Articaine group. Conclusions Articaine was oneof local anesthetics with good infiltration, safety and anesehetic effect. It would be more and morewidely used in oral treatment field in the future.
