Abstract

Objective:To study the protective effects of ligustrazine on acute lung injury.Methods:Twenty-four rabbits were randomly divided into 3 groups:group A,B and C.Group A was non-operation group ,while hemorrhagic shock models were performed in both group B and group C,and induced to ALI,then the shock rabbits were resuscitated in 20 min.The ligus- trazine was used in group C during resuscitation. The arterial blood was taken in different time to determine the plasma tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α) concentration. The amount of pulmonary alveolarmacrophages (PAM) and polymorphonuclear leu- kocyte (PMN) in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) were counted at the end of experiment. At the same time ,the protein contents in BALF and superoxide dismutase(SOD)contents in lung tissue were measured ,and the water ratio of lung tissue was calculated. The histological forms of lung were examined through the light microscope. Results:Compared between group A and group B ,TNF-αconcentration ,the protein contents and the amount of PMN in BALF were increased more obviously after resuscitation. In group C the level of all indexs above was lower than that in group t3.In contrast to the group A ,SOD contents of lung tissue were lower in groupB ,with a high level of water ratio in lung tissue. In group C the SOD contents were higher than those in group B,while the water ratio was reduced.Lung tissue edema and neutrophil accumulation can be observed by microscope both in group B and group C ,but the changes in the later were mollified.Conelusion:l.igustrazine has the protective effects on ALl which resulted from experimental hemorrhagic shock in rabbits.
