Abstract
Objective To study the protective effects of Reduced Glutathione on SD rats hemorrhagic shock acute lung injury. Methods Twenty-four SD rats were divided into 3 groups randomly which named group A,B and C respectively.Group A was non-operation group, while hemorrhagic shock models were performed in both group B and group C,and resulted in ALI,then the shock rabbits were resuscitated in 20 min.The Reduced Glutathione was used in group C during resuscitation. The arterial blood was taken in different time to determine the plasma tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)concentration.The amount of pulmonary alveolarmacrophages(PAM)and polymorphonuclear leukocyte(PMN)in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid(BALF)were counted atthe end of experiment. At the same time, the protein contents in BALF and superoxide dismutase(SOD)contents in lung tissue were measured, and the water ratio of lung tissue was calculated. The histological forms of lung were examined through the light microscope. Results Compared with group A,B after resuscitation,C group content of TNF-α,BALF protein content and total PMN,lung tissue water content was significantly increased,SOD content decreased significantly, the difference was statistically significant(P0.05).Changes of C group were all lower than those of B group, the difference was statistically significant(P0.05).Under light microscope, lung tissue in group B interstitial edema, infiltration significantly, compared with the above of lung tissue in C group was obviously alleviated the changes. Conclusion Reduced Glutathione has the protective effects on ALI which resulted from experimental hemorrhagic shock in SD rats.
