Abstract
Objective To evaluate curative efficiency of super selective esophageal intra-arterial infusion chemotherapy combined with radiotherapy for advanced esophageal carcinoma. Methods 143 patients with advanced esophageal carcinoma were randomly divided into 2 groups(72 in treatment group and 71 in control group): Treatment group was treated by super selective esophageal intra-arterial infusion chemotherapy combined with radiotherapy;Control group was treated with radiotherapy alone. All patients of two groups managed conventional fraction radiation: 2.0Gy per fraction, five fraction a week with the total doses of 60 Gy,and followed up for 12 months. Results For the treatment group and control group, esophageal lesion complete relief rates were respectively 75% and 55%(P0.05),The one-year local control rates were respectively74%,48%(P0.05) and one year survival rates were respectively 92%,76%(P0.05). Conclusion It shows significant efficiency for super selective esophageal intra-arterial infusion chemotherapy combined with radiotherapy for advanced esophageal carcinoma.
