Abstract
The life-cycle cost analysis (LCCA) is seen as an efficient tool to select the most economic and reasonable structure thickness combination of the asphalt pavement and maintenance or rehabilitation strategies. This paper introduces such aspects as the necessary conditions, influence factors, analysis procedure and analysis method of LCCA in the asphalt pavement structure design and illustrates the application of the life-cycle cost analysis in the optimum thickness design of the asphalt pavement.
