The prevention and treatment of perioperative pulmonary infection of transoral operation for the atlantar axis disorders

Objective To investigate the prevention and treatment of perioperative pulmonary infection of transoral operation for the atlantar axis disorders.Methods 50 patients with atantal-axis disorders were given serials of measures to prevent pulmonary infection during perioperative period,which included the oral-nasal clearence,smoking cessation strictly,nutritional support actively,the operation be finished as soon as possible,management of respiratory tract strictly and timely extubation after operative,etc.Results 8 patients(16%) got perioperative pulmonary infection,which included simultaneously pulmonary atelectasis in 4 cases,lung edema 2 cases.All 50 patients got through perioperative period safely.Conclusions Perioperative pulmonary infection occurres with high rate in transoral operation.So it is necessary to take effective measures to prevent these complications for a succeed operation.
