Abstract
Objective To investigate the clinical value of combination of three methods in prevention of wound infection after appendectomy. Methods 256 patients undergoing acute appendicitis were randomly divided into study group and control group,128 patients in the study group were treated with antibiotics before surgery, and recieved peritoneum ectropion and their wounds were washed with Povidone Iodine while operation,in control group the patients wounds were washed with normal sodium.patients in the two groups were treated by the same methods after operation. Results The difference of clinical and pathology typing was not statistically significant between the two groups (P0.05).There were 3 patients in study group and 17 patients in control group with wound infection. The wound infection rate was significantly lower in study group than in control group (P0.01).Conclusion It is an effective method in prevention ofwound infection after appendectomywith combination of the three methods.
