Abstract

Based on the twenty specimens with concrete strength varied from 65.3 MPa to 84.9 MPa subjected to constant axial compression force and horizontal load, the shear performance of steel reinforced high-strength concrete columns is studied.Four factors, that is,shear span ratio, axial compression ratio, stirrup ratio and grade of concrete strength are taken into consideration.Failure patterns of specimens are obtained and the influence of shear span ratio, axial compression ratio, stirrup ratio and grade of concrete strength on shear performance of steel reinforced high-strength columns is analyzed. The calculating formula for shear strength of steel reinforced high-strength columns is presented and calculating results have good agreements with test results.
