Abstract
Objective To analyze the prevalence of children and adolescent's overweight and obesity and to provide scientific evidence for establishing measures for prevention and intervention.Methods The sample included 7 100 students aged from 7 to 18 years in Lanzhou,they were from 2008 Chinese Students Constitution and Health Surveillance,and were divided by genders and regions.Working Group of Obesity in China-Body Mass Index(WGOC-BMI) criterion was used to screen obesity and overweight.Results The prevalence of obesity were 7.4%,3.3%,1.8% and 1.4%,and that of overweight were 14.0%,7.6%,5.1% and 2.9%,for the urban boysurban girlsrural boysrural girls,respectively.The prevalence of obesity/overweight was the highest in the urban boys aged 12.Conclusion The prevalence of overweight and obesity shows an increasing trend compared with Gansu,2005.Therefore,more attentions should be paid to prevent and control child overweight and obesity.
