Abstract

Objective:To investigate the correlation between inhibitor of differentiation-1ptotein expression and clinicopathologic characteristics in oral squamous cell carcinoma(OSCC).Methods:Id-1protein epression in 65 cases of OSCC was detected by immunohistochemical staining.Microvessel density(MVD)in OSCC was measured.Results:Id-1protein was mainly detected in cytoplasm in OSCC cell.Id-1positive expression occurred in 49 out of the 65 tumor samples(75.38%).The differentiation degree of OSCC,lymph node metastasis and UICC TMN classification were closely correlated with Id-1positive expression(P0.01).But there was no significant corelation between the positive expression and sex, tumor location.Id-1expression was positively correlated with MVD in OSCC(P0.01).Conclusion:Id-1positive expression in OSCC may play apotential role in the differentiation, lymph node metastasis and the angiogenesis of OSCC.
