Analysis of the Effect of Nursing Intervention on Preventing Constipation in Patients Undergoing Orthopedic Surgery

Abstract
Objective To analyze the effect of nursing intervention on the constipation in patients undergoing orthopedic surgery.Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on 136 patients with fracture hospitalized in our hospital from January 2012 to January 2013. The patients were divided into two groups, and treated by comprehensive nursing, conventional nursing, respectively.And the occurrence of constipation of the two groups was analyzed and compared. Results Fifty-eight patients with comprehensive nursing underwent defecation within 4 days, compared with those with conventional nursing, the difference was statistically significant, P0.05. Conclusion Comprehensive nursing should be given to the fracture patients so as to prevent the incidence of constipation, reduce the pain of the patients and promote healing.
