Abstract
Objective:To explore the value of susceptibility weighted imaging (SWI) in the diagnosis of cerebral venous malformation on 3.0T MR.Methods:The routine MR imaging and SWI data of cerebral venous malformation in 19 cases were retrospectively analyzed. Results:the dilated draining veins could be shown in all 19 cases, and the medulla veins could be shown in 9 cases by conventional MR,while on SWI,the dilated draining veins and medulla veins could be shown in all cases assimilated to a caput medusae or chilopod sign. Conclusion:The imaging features of cerebral venous malformation can be clearly and accurately shown by SWI,which can be used in the diagnosis of cerebral venous malformation as an important supplement to the routine MR sequences.
