Abstract
The repeatability and reproducibility of the power puncture withstand test for overhead line insulators is a puzzle of the insulator manufacturer and of the correlated independently test room all along. Taken the overhead line cap and pin glass insulator for example, based on the two research reports of CIGRE Task Force 33.07.01, and after testing once again, it is pointed out that, basic factors affecting the repeatability of the test are: resistivity, variety and dielectric strength of the test oil, and an operable mixture ratio of the test oil is proposed. And then repeatability verification test is carried out in a same test room, the aim is that hoping this study can provide experience to achieve the test reproducibility among the test rooms.
