Abstract
According to the Chinese Plants Red DataBook, there are in Hainan 57 rare and endangered species belonging to 35 families and 49 genera, 1 species of pteridophyte, 10 species of gymnosperm and 56 species of angiosperm. The National Key Protected Wild Plants List shows that there are in Hainan 43 species belonging to 25 families and 34 genera, 10 species of pteridophyte, 6 species of gymnosperm, 27 species of angiosperm. In all, there are in Hainan 74 species of national protected plants, belonging to 39 families and 59 genera.
