Abstract

We analyze the flood control situation of Jingjiang River reach and middle and lower reaches of Yangtze River before and after completion of TGP.As for Jingjiang River reach,we analyze the changes of flood control situation before and after completion of TGP in the condition of encountering flood of different frequencies,and it is shown that the completion of TGP improves the flood control situation of the reach radically.And for the middle and lower reaches of Yangtze River,through simulation of 1954-type flood before and after completion of TGP,we conclude that the flood control capacity of the reaches is improved;however,there is still 400 ×108 m3 of surplus flood needs to be treated and the flood control in some areas will be tough.Therefore,after the completion of TGP,comprehensive measures should be taken to further strengthen the structural and non-structural measures.
