Abstract
In Han dynasty, the storied building appeared with the form of piled houses, gradually getting rid of high rammed earth platforms, having a great influence on the future pavilions and pagodas. With the development of wooden architecture, the Han pavilions broke the traditional mode of high-rise soil buildings started from the Warring States period. With its multi-storied wooden beam, the building had both novel and traditional styles o f structure and shape.The rise of Han pavilion was influenced by social background, cultural background,and ideology, whose technical and artistic characteristics played a n important role in the development of ancient pavilion building in China.
