Guan School that was founded by Zhang Zai in the North Song dynasty was still popular with Lixue School in Guanzhong Area in Shaanxi in the Ming and Qing dynasty.It lasted 700 years until it was ended by Li Yu.As an independent school in the later feudal society of China,it not only contributed a great deal to the Chinese thoughts,but also developed its own distinctive spirit.In its long history of spread and evolution,the views of the Guan School thinkers changed a lot.However,they still showed a consistent academic spirit,such as(1) the mission consciousness of establishing heart-mind and vocation;(2) the innovative spirit of to pave a new way;(3) the academic motive of apotheosizing propriety and virtue;(4) the practical sort of governing and applying;(5) the personality aspiration of admiring principle;(6) the study posture of imbibing and holding widely.In spite of the limitation of history and area,these basic spirits capsule excellent essence that holds actual significance and value nowadays.
