Clinical Research on the Application of Mitomycin C and Adjustable Sutures in Trabeculectomy

Objective To evaluate the effect of the combining application of mitomycin C and adjustable suture in trabeculectomy.Methods 115 glau-comatous patients(122 eyes) were randomly divided into two groups.78 eyes in experimental group were performed trabeculectomy,combined with application of mitomycin C and sclera flap sutured with an adjustalbe thread.44 eyes in control group were performed conventional tra-beculectomy.Results The controlled ratio of intraocular pressure and the functional filtering bleb in experimental group were significantly higher than those in control group(P0.01);The occurrence rate of flat anterior chamber in experimental group was significantly lower than in the control group(P0.05).There were no significant complications.Conclusion Trabecu-lectomy combined with mitomycin C and adjustable sutures can be effective in controlling intraocular pressure level,reducing scleral flap scarring,actively adjusting the volume of aqueous filtration,promoting the formation of the functional filtering bleb,reducing complications,improving the success rate of surgery.This performance is simple and ease to master,is an effective method of glaucoma treatment.
