An Innovative Style of Painting:On Wu Changshuo's Views on Painting Innovation

Abstract

The masters of free style painting such as Wu Changshuo,Xu Wei and Shi Tao together are called the Reformists by the contemporary circles of painting.In fact,Wu Changshuo's views on painting innovation differ from those of Xu Wei and Shi Tao.Though Wu Changshuo advocated reverting to avant-garde just as the Reformists such as Xu Wei and Shi Tao did,his socalled ego does not refer to one's inner heart,but one's unique painting style.An innovative style is the core of Wu Changshuo's views of painting innovation.
