Abstract
Objective: To study the expression of CD44v6 and VEGF in gastric carcinoma and their relation to the clinicopathological features. Methods: CD44v6 and VEGF protein expression in 105 cases of human gastric carcinoma were examined by using immunohistochemical staining. CD44v6 and VEGF expression were analysed together with their relation to histologic types, depth of invasion and lymph node metastasis. Results: The positive rate of CD44v6 was 71.43%(75/105). The positive rate of VEGF was 58.10%(61/105). CD44v6 and VEGF had a positive corrlation with the differentiation degree of the tumor, the depth of invasion and lymph node metastasis (P 0.05). Conclusion: It is significant for prognosis when CD44v6 and VEGF are examined by using immunohistochemical staining at the same time.
