Progress of seismic design theory of buildings

Abstract

Seismic design theory covers many advanced researches in the field of earthquake engineering. Based on discussing the meanings and contents of the seismic fortification criterion, this paper reviews the origins, development, and perspectives of several seismic design methods and earthquake response analysis methods. A few problems of seismic design theory of buildings in China are summarized. Finally, the recent development directions of seismic design research are briefly mentioned to help researchers to explore.
