Abstract

In order to meet the request of low wattage switching power supply to the high ratio of performance to price,a Boost converter of discontinuous current mode (DCM) is designed using peak current controlling PWM generator UC3842.The mathematic model of DCM Boost converter is established, and the work condition of it is also deduced.Adder principle is adopted in the design of outside ring voltage control circuit, and OrCAD software is used for the simulation of the circuit. The simulation result indicates that the power factor of the low wattage switching power supply can greatly be improved by using the designed DCM Boost converter.
