Clinical application of fetal umbilical cord blood flow monitoring in department of obstetrics

Abstract

Objective:To explore the clinical value of Doppler ultrasound in detection of the ratio of peak systolic flow velocity/peak diastolic flow velocity(S/D) of fetal umbilical artery and fetal monitoring. Methods:360 pregnant women of 28~42 gestational weeks were selected randomly,their S/D ratios of umbilical blood flow were detected,and their pregnancy outcomes and delivery modes were followed up. Results:Fetal intrauterine hypoxia was detected in abnormal umbilical blood flow group,and the incidences of adverse perinatal outcomes,such as fetal intrauterine distress,neonatal asphyxia and perinatal mortality were significantly higher than those in normal umbilical blood flow group(P0.05). Conclusion:S/D ratio detection by Doppler ultrasound has the advantages of easy to operate and non-invasion for fetuses,which is an effective method to evaluate fetal conditions and easy to be popularized in monitoring of obstetrical high risk pregnancy.
