Abstract
Objective:To evaluate the application of osteoenesis in the treatment of mandibular deformity.Methods:5 cases were treated by distraction Osteogenesis.2 cases of them suffered from Treacher-Collins syndrome,3 cases were diagnosed as hemifacial hypoplasia syndrome. Results:The distraction was fulfilled with a range of 7.0~20 mm,the deformity of all plaints was corrected satisfactorily.Local soft tissue infection was noted around the distracter frame in one case and distracter frame screw was fissured in one case. However, new formation was not affected by the complication. Conclusion:Distraction Osteogenesis has the advantages of avoiding bone-grafting morbidity, reducing the extent of operation.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
