Abstract
The energy cost and environmental loading of magnesium production with Pidgeon process are investigated by life cycle assessment method,and the whole magnesium production process resources and energy consumption,environmental emissions as well as environmental impact are analyzed.As a consequence,the consumption of the abundance energy with Pidgeon magnesium production process is 1.48×105 MJ/t-Mg ingot and greenhouse effect is the biggest one to environment loading,accounts for the total amount 49.65%.
